Reporter David Fahrenthold has contacted more than 400 charities with some ties to the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, to find out if Trump's claim of donating millions is true. This search has been largely unsuccessful, with most charities declining to comment or respond. Fahrenthold has been investigating and publishing a series of reports throughout this election, showing that Trump profited from charitable events and passed on donations from others as his own through The Donald Trump Foundation.

Fahrenthold joins us with an update on one of the many revelations in his reporting: Donald Trump has not donated his own money to his foundation since 2008.

The Trump campaign has called these reports inaccurate. In an interview with The Takeaway in September, Farenthold claimed, “We asked them for comment on that story, and then after the fact they said it was inaccurate, but did not point out any inaccuracies.”
