Rebecca Taichman & The Stars Of 'School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play'

The Leonard Lopate Show | Nov 29, 2017

Director Rebecca Taichman, and actors Nabiyah Be and MaameYaa Boafo join us to discuss their new show, “School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play.” Set in Ghana's most prestigious boarding school, the play tells the story of Paulina, a popular student who's determined to make it to the Miss Universe pageant. But, that plan gets complicated with the arrival of Ericka, who becomes a threat to Paulina's status in the school while also catching the eye of the pageant recruiter.

"School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play" runs at the MCC Theater (121 Christopher St., at Houston St.) through Dec. 31.
