The Annual Village Halloween Parade (asterix611/flickr)

The post-Sandy blackout caused the cancellation of last year's Village Halloween parade and the organizers are still trying to recover from financial losses. Jeanne Fleming, artistic and producing director of the parade, talks about their Kickstarter campaign to raise money to make sure the tradition continues. Have you ever marched in the parade?  Tell us about your costume or puppet. Call 212-433-9692 or post your story here.

I love the Halloween Day Parade, it is just so much fun.
I love the different costumes, that sometimes reflect the
stuff that is taking place.

The creativity, the good mood of the spectators and participants.

It would be a true shame of the Halloween Parade was canceled.

I saw the 1974 parade. It was a group of artists from Wetbeth who made costumes a small floats for their kid. When walked up from Wetbeth to Bleecker up 10th to the Jefferson Library where one climbed the tower with a lantern
It was great.

Bloomberg never met a bit of fun he couldn't ruin. It's still sort of fun ... definitely the best part of Halloween for kids in the city.

I hate the Halloween parade. Bloomberg ruined it.

It was better years ago when it weaved through the streets of the Village.

The Coney Island Mermaid Parade is better, but also over controlled by Bloomberg.
