After 53 years, Univision's iconic Spanish-language variety show Sábado Gigante is going off the air. The three-hour program was designed to appeal to multi-generational Latino families in the US who watch television together, and grew to reach millions of viewers in Latin America -- though changing demographics and broadcasting options have altered its audience. Carolina Miranda of the LA Times talks to Brooke about the program's historic impact and how it has, "for better and worse, defined Spanish-language TV."
