WNYC Urban Affairs Reporter Cindy Rodriguez and Raven Rakia, journalist at The Intercept, join us to discuss their joint investigation into the risks women face when visiting inmates at Rikers Island. They report that women have filed lawsuits and complained to prosecutors and regulators, and have even called in to 311 to say that they’ve been violated by female guards.
