Morgan Simon describes herself as an "impact investor" and outlines her philosophy for funding social justice projects that make money in her new book Real Impact: The New Economics of Social Change. She shows how this new brand of investment must be structured differently than our current model of charity or else they won't be able to accomplish their goals.

Morgan Simon will appear, with an introduction by Maya Wiley, on Oct. 4 at  6 p.m. at The New School: Eugene Lang Building (65 West 11th St., between 5th and 6th Ave.).
