A Public Stargazing Observatory is One Step Closer to a New Home in The Bronx

The Brian Lehrer Show | Jun 3, 2022

A public observatory that recently lost its home at Nassau Community College on Long Island may be making its way to The Bronx, and it would be the city's first public observatory. Rosemary Misdary, metro science reporter for WNYC/Gothamist, and Bart Fried, vice president of the Amateur Astronomers Association and telescope historian, talk about what needs to happen to bring the structure - which weighs half a ton -- to the city, and what stargazers can expect when it arrives.
