The Challenges of Prisoner Reentry

The Brian Lehrer Show | Jul 6, 2017

Keesha Middlemass, an assistant professor of political science at Trinity University in Texas and author of Convicted and Condemned: The Politics and Policies of Prisoner Reentry (NYU Press, 2017), examines prisoner reentry from the felons' perspective. By featuring voices of formerly incarcerated felons, Middlemass exposes the many barriers they face, from where they can live and work, whether they can vote, access to financial aid or any public assistance.
