Obama's Visit Friday to Close Prospect Park for 6 Hours

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

President Obama's visit to a Brooklyn school Friday will close one of the borough's largest parks for six hours.

According to a spokeswoman for the Prospect Park Alliance, the park will be closed from noon to 6 p.m. due to unspecified security measures connected with the president's visit to New York that day. President Obama is scheduled to visit the Pathways in Technology Early College High School—also known as P-TECH—in nearby Crown Heights. The president praised the school in his latest State of the Union speech.
