Kim Snyder directed the documentary “Newtown,” about the lives of those who lost loved ones in the horrific shooting of 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012. Filmed over the course of nearly three years, personal testimonies tell a story of the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting of schoolchildren in American history. David Wheeler, the father of 6-year-old Ben Wheeler, one of the children who died that day, also joins the conversation. “Newtown” opens at the Lincoln Plaza and Landmark Sunshine Cinemas on October 7th.
Events: After the 7:45 p.m. screening at Sunshine Cinemas on Oct. 7th, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo will speak. There will also be a post-screening Q&A with director Kim Snyder, producer Maria Cuomo Cole and Newtown parents Mark and Jackie Barden, Nicole Hockley, and David and Francine Wheeler.
