CNN’s instant poll of the first and only vice-presidential debate shows 48 percent of survey respondents believed Republican Mike Pence performed better Tuesday night, compared to 42 percent for Tim Kaine.

The Democratic candidate drew fire for repeatedly interrupting, while Pence struggled to pivot away from running mate Donald Trump’s controversial comments.

Political strategists Jamal Simmons and Paris Dennard join Here & Now hosts Robin Young and Jeremy Hobson to discuss the debate, as well as the second presidential debate scheduled for Sunday.
