In his latest novel, Perfume River, Robert Olen Butler looks at the legacy of the Vietnam War through the portrait of one North Florida family. Robert Quinlan is an 70-year-old Vietnam War veteran who is estranged from his brother, Jimmy. Unresolved tensions resurface when Jimmy refuses to visit their father on his deathbed.
