Now Open: 52 Community Gardens

The Brian Lehrer Show | May 18, 2015

It takes community dedication to open a community garden. The New York Restoration Project is New York’s only city wide conservancy and responsible for opening 52 community gardens throughout the city.

Jordan Dyniewski, NYPR's director of Public Events, discusses what it takes to open a public garden and the start of the Arts in the Garden series, a partnership with BAM and the Bronx Museum of the Arts. The four-month long series of arts events including dance classes, movies, music, lectures and much more is free, open to the public and taking place in a community garden near you.
