"That Old Black Magic" was composed in 1942 by the songwriting team Johnny Mercer and Harold Arlen for the film, Star-Spangled Rhythm. In 1943, the song was nominated for a Best Song Oscar, losing to Jerome Kern's "The Last Time I Saw Paris". 

The song has since been recorded by many artists including; Sammy Davis Jr., Louis Prima & Keely Smith and Frank Sinatra.
