Oil Barge Strike Settlement

Reporter introduces a meeting between the Local 333 representatives and the representatives of the employers of the tankers and the barges.

Theodore W. Kheel, Director of Labor Relations, announces an agreement between the operators of the oil barges and tankers and Local 333 of the International Longshoremen's Union. Details of the agreement are explained.

Joseph Ryan, President of the International Longshoremen's Union, thanks Mayor O'Dwyer and William J. McCormac, in addition to the union and employer representatives.

Several other men involved in the agreement speak briefly.

Reporter reads a statement from Mayor O'Dwyer thanking the negotiation committee for coming to an agreement.
