NYC's School Choice Program Hasn't Closed the Education Gap

Despite a city program aimed at giving students from less affluent families greater access to the city's best schools, graduation rates for many students continue to differ by race and class. 

"The idea was to create a more level playing field," said Kristen Lewis, coauthor of a year-long study on the NYC school choice program. Part of the problem, she told to WNYC's Jami Floyd, is that there  "are not enough good schools to go around."
