Nikki Giovanni On The People Who Shaped Her

Nikki Giovanni, poet, activist, seven-time NAACP Image Award winner, the first recipient of the Rosa Parks Woman of Courage Award, and recipient of the Langston Hughes Medal for Outstanding Poetry, joins us to discuss her book A Good Cry: What We Learn From Tears and Laughter. The book is a collection of poems and prose about Giovanni's and looks at the people like her good friend Maya Angelou who have shaped her. 

Nikki Giovanni will appear in conversation with Joy-Ann Reid on Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Schomburg Center (515 Malcolm X Blvd, between 135th and 136th St.).
