Nick was a true painter's painter, and inspirational teacher.

Personally, as a young art student, his encouragement and guidance during my formative years at Cooper Union were invaluable, and I will always be indebted to him.

Being able to hear Nick's voice once again speak about painting, and his own work in particular, is a wonderful, unexpected gift.

How fortunate for us all that this important interview has been preserved.
