New series won big in this year’s Golden Globe nominations, which were announced earlier this week.

FX’s “The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” led the way with five nominations. Old-faithfuls like “Game of Thrones” and “Veep” still grabbed nominations, but it begs the question: are critics getting tired of older shows, or are new series really just that good?

NPR TV critic Eric Deggans (@Deggans) joins Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson to discuss all things Golden Globe nominations, and to weigh in on new series’ success.
