Nevermind the Bad News out of Atlantic City! Developers Pitch Casinos in New York.

Monday at 4 p.m. is the deadline for developers to submit proposals for large casino-resorts in New York State. Some of the plans would put a casino within 60 miles of Manhattan, the closest a full-service casino with table games has ever come to the city. The deadline comes on the heels of worrying news out of New Jersey: the Showboat Casino will become the second Atlantic City casino to close so far this year, and analysts are warning the northeast gambling market may be saturated.
