An Exploration of Hallucinogenic Mushrooms on Stage

Writer and performer Adam Strauss talks about his new show at “The Mushroom Cure,” running through August 13th at The Cherry Lane Theater (38 Commerce Street). Strauss’ one-person show was inspired by a scientific study showing that hallucinogenic mushrooms may cure obsessive-compulsive disorder. He tells the story of how he uncovered an underground community of chemists and had a love affair with a psychologist who took him on as her unofficial research subject.
