Friday, September 20, 2013

Movie date co-host Kristen Meizner said 12 Years A Slave, which stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and follows the tribulations of a free Northern black man Solomon Northrup, is different from other films depicting slavery.

"It's taking the audience, who are free ... and the main character in the movie is also not enslaved, but gets kidnapped and forced into slavery for 12 years and we in the audience take that journey with him," Meizner said.
