'Menashe' Shows The Hasidic Community In Yiddish

Director Joshua Z. Weinstein and actor Menashe Lustig discuss their new Yiddish-language film "Menashe." The film takes place within the New York Hasidic community of Borough Park, Brooklyn, and follows a grocery store clerk named Menashe. Following the death of his wife, Menashe tries to keep custody of his son, who is scheduled to be adopted by his brother because tradition requires a child be raised in a home with a mother.

"Menashe" opens in New York at the Angelika (18 W Houston St., between Mercer St. and Broadway) and Lincoln Plaza Cinema (1886 Broadway) on July 28.

Friday 7/28 and Saturday 7/29 following the 8:10 p.m. shows with Director Joshua Weinstein.
Sunday 7/30 following the 5 p.m. show with Director Joshua Weinstein and star Menashe Lustig.
