On the environment, I got an email from the National Wildlife Federation saying that due to the shutdown, the EPA will have to stop monitoring pollution & doing toxic waste site cleanups, & in addition to national parks, services won't be carried out at "hundreds of wildlife refuges." They have a petition on this at https://online.nwf.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=1811.
