Blue Note At 75, The Concert

The iconic jazz label Blue Note Records turns 75 this year, and it's celebrating in Washington, D.C. As the capstone to a week of performances, film screenings and discussions, Blue Note artists gather in the 2,465-seat Concert Hall of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for a special performance. Slated to appear are giants from Blue Note history โ€” including Wayne Shorter, Bobby Hutcherson, Lou Donaldson and McCoy Tyner โ€” as well as mainstays of the label's present: musicians like Norah Jones, Dianne Reeves, Joe Lovano and Jason Moran. They'll be joined by special surprise guests throughout the evening, as well.

NPR Music presents a live webcast of Blue Note At 75, The Concert this Sunday, May 11 starting at 7 p.m. ET. An audio recording will be archived at this page, with video segments to follow.
