A Bit of Nostalgia Courtesy of Annie Lennox

New Standards | Dec 30, 2014

Here on the Jonathan Channel, we thought we'd ring in the new year with a bit of Nostalgia (surprise, surprise).

Scottish singer-songwriter, Annie Lennox has provided the perfect soundtrack with her new release (you guessed it), Nostalgia.  This recent release is a departure from her early work with the Eurythmics and even her most recent solo career. Nostalgia is a collection of great American songbook hits interpreted by the pop icon. Seems there is a lot of that going around these days. The album includes songs from great such as: Hoagy Carmichael, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, and Billie Holiday.

Listen this week to The Jonathan Channel as Lennox takes on well-known American classics like “Georgia on My Mind”, “Mood Indigo” and most notably “Strange Fruit” – every hour on the hour. Stay tuned to hear the album in its entirety.
