Telling The Stories Of 6 Important Women Through What They Ate

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jul 27, 2017

Food journalist Laura Shapiro believes what we eat says so much about who we are and the lives we lead. In her new book What She Ate: Six Remarkable Women and the Food That Tells Their Stories, Shapiro tells the stories of six women from history by looking at their day-to-day meals. They include Rosa Lewis, a successful caterer in Edwardian-era England, Eleanor Roosevelt and Hitler's mistress, Eva Braun.

Melissa Clark guest hosted this segment of "The Leonard Lopate Show."
