House Republicans unveiled their latest tax bill on Thursday and K street is mobilizing.

“An army of lobbyists will come to protect special interest provisions and to derail tax reform,"  said House Speaker Paul Ryan last month while speaking at the Heritage Foundation.

That "army" and their clients are now clamoring to understand what the bill will mean for their bottom line and how to carve out loopholes that will work in their best interests.

What is it like to be a lobbyist in D.C. right now? For answers, we turn to Bob Schneider, who spent two decades as a lobbyist in areas ranging from foreign policy and national security to trade. He’s currently a writer at Chicago Now.

This segment is hosted by Todd Zwillich.
