July 2022 Schedule Changes for WNYC and NJPR

Specials | Jun 30, 2022

Starting July 2, 2022 there are changes coming to the WNYC FM, AM and NJPR program schedules.

These changes are largely prompted by Krista Tippett’s decision to end her weekly radio series, On Being. Sadly, the last episode aired on WNYC June 26 & 27. Fresh Air Weekend will take its Sunday 7 a.m. slot, On The Media slides back an hour to 2 p.m. Sundays, and Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me will air on WNYC FM & AM at 3 p.m. Radiolab will slide into On Being’s Monday 9 p.m. slot with The Pulse taking over the 8 p.m. slot.

We’re also taking this opportunity to make some additional adjustments that bring better consistency to the schedule – New Sounds will again be heard seven days a week at 11 p.m., and BBC’s World Service will offer live news coverage consistently starting at midnight seven days a week.

We’re adding Intelligence Squared, a familiar program to many WNYC listeners when it was featured routinely as a special. Intelligence Squared offers listeners a view of the big questions that divide Americans. Each episode brings together world thinkers, policy makers and journalists, arguing the pros and cons of cultural, domestic and foreign policy issues.

Intelligence Squared replaces It’s Been A Minute and Left Right & Center, Saturdays at 6 p.m. on WNYC FM/AM/NJPR. Unfortunately, It’s Been A Minute host Sam Sanders left the show and it was very much centered on his strength and sensibility. Left, Right and Center’s host Josh Barro also recently left that show, but it will continue to be heard in its Saturday morning WNYC-AM slot.

Additional changes are highlighted in red in the schedules below.

Please reach out to WNYC’s Listener Services team with any questions or comments.

As always, thank you for listening to WNYC!
