Annie, Bielski, Zia Anger, Jenny Hval, and Havard Volden

Norwegian singer, composer, writer, provocateur Jenny Hval creates songs that combine the sheen of pop music with the grit of experimentalism, and the melodic gestures of love songs with pointed feminist commentary. Hval discusses her intimate, transgressive songs with David Garland. Lately, Hval has been collaborating with American filmmaker Zia Anger and performer Annie Bielski in concert as well as in film and images. For this in-studio session, Anger and Bielski silently join Hval and musician Havard Volden, adding dimensions Hval requires, even though they're invisible on the radio.
