Is It Ever Okay to Listen to Podcasts at Triple the Speed?
Sure, it's efficient, but is it enjoyable?
Some podcasts lovers out there have figured out a life hack: listen to podcasts at higher speeds to get the most content-per-minute. You'll get through a 40 minute episode in half the time, but with a chipmunk effect.
Listen above to hear what Fresh Air's Terry Gross sounds like at double the speed. And listen below to hear the whole conversation between WNYC's Richard Hake and Shumita Basu in double time.

We want to hear from you: is speed-listening every okay? What about for podcasts, movies, music or TV shows? Is it efficient or just madness? Make your case on Twitter using the hashtag #MyWrongOpinion.
This is part of a new series of low-stakes debates called "You're Entitled to Your Wrong Opinion." Have an idea for what should be debated next? Tweet @shubasu with your suggestions.
@WNYC @shubasu Speed listening got me through the online lectures in grad school. All the students did it. #mywrongopinion

#MyWrongOpinion I like listening to talk podcasts at 1.2 or 1.3 times regular speed. But no more and music always regular speed.

To one who appreciates the lyrical nature of human voices, speeding up podcasts is taboo. It ain't just about data! @WNYC #MyWrongOpinion

@WNYC @ShuBasu I'm not in favor of "speed-listening". Better answer to content overload is: be pickier about your listening. #mywrongopinion

No question @shubasu @WNYC people who listen to podcasts at 2x speed are sociopaths. #MyWrongOpinion except I am 100% correct.
