ISIS Tries to Revive The Caliphate While Dominating In Social Media

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, has declared itself a caliphate, but for those checking out the groups’ tweets, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. ISIS has been all over social media as it’s gained territory in Iraq.

J.M. Berger, editor of the website IntelWire, joins Here & Now’s Robin Young to discuss what ISIS’ new self-declared status means, how it’s using Twitter, and the effect it’s all having on al-Qaida.
