David Grann on The Osage Murders

The Leonard Lopate Show | Apr 17, 2017

Bestselling author and New Yorker staff writer David Grann joins us to discuss his new book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. Grann investigates a string of murders that took place in Oklahoma during the 1920s. The Osage Indian Nation lived on oil-rich land, and its members began to disappear or suddenly die. Grann details the Osage's history, attempts to solve the murders and what role the agency that would become the F.B.I. had in finding the murderers.
