How Social Media is Transforming the Lives of Teen Girls

Journalist Nancy Jo Sales  interviewed over 200 girls across the country to find out how technology, social media and the internet are changing adolescence and creating new social norms. In American Girls: Social Media and the Secret Lives of Teenagers she reveals how young women are influenced by a hypersexualized internet culture which affects their intellectual development and communication skills.
