How Jeff Sessions Is Taking Your Stuff

The Leonard Lopate Show | Aug 9, 2017

C.J. Ciaramella, a criminal justice writer for Reason, joins us to discuss how the Department of Justice under Attorney General Jeff Sessions is embracing civil asset forfeiture, a practice that authorizes police to confiscate property without charging or convicting the individual of a crime. He’ll also look at how civil asset forfeiture differs from state to state, and what lengths citizens have to go to in order recover their seized property.

Jonathan Capehart guest hosted this segment of "The Leonard Lopate Show."
