As volunteers all across the country try to bring Christmas cheer to homeless and underprivileged kids, we tell the story of the nonprofit Christmas in the City.

The program started by helping 100 homeless kids 28 years ago, and this year will serve almost 5,000, with the help of 3,000 volunteers, including the founders, Jake and Sparky Kennedy.

Here & Now‘s Robin Young visited Christmas in the City (@CITCBoston) last year to find out what it takes to put on such a huge event.
