Legendary Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer released his first film in 1972, and since then he’s left an indelible mark on motion pictures and television. He’s produced the blockbusters Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Beverly Hills Cop, The Rock, Con Air, Armageddon, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, as well as Flashdance, Dangerous Minds, Remember the Titans, Veronica Guerin, and Glory Road. He shares the stories behind his films and television shows and tells about his incredible career in Hollywood. He’s the subject of Michael Singer’s new book When Lightning Strikes: Four Decades of Filmmaking.

A "Producer" is an entrepreneur. He or she is the person who puts the enterprise together and makes it work and hopefully profitable. It's the same with movies as with any other human enterprise. You need a competent entrepreneur to put it together and make it a profitable business.
