When we hear the name von Trapp, the "Sound of Music" often comes to mind. But if a new generation of von Trapp singers has their way, we won't just be associating their name with the Rodgers and Hammerstein soundtrack anymore, we'll be humming along to indie pop confections like "Next To Me," "People Like Us," and other songs off the new album "Dancing in Gold."

"Dancing in Gold" is the first EP of original songs from Sofia, Melanie, Amanda, and August von Trapp, siblings and members of the indie band The von Trapps. They're the great-grandchildren of the Captain and Maria von Trapp, known for the "Sound of Music," and they're reinventing the legacy of their birthright for the modern age with their new album of indie pop tunes.

The von Trapps joined us from their hometown of Portland, Oregon to discuss their legendary family and their new album, which hits stores April 14.
