Guy Klucevsek: Squeezing the Most Out of the Accordion

Spinning on Air | Mar 9, 2015

Accordionist/composer Guy Klucevsek has helped expand the possibilities of his instrument, taking it from polkas to experimentalism—and even writing and commissioning some experimental polkas along the way. David Garland welcomes him to the WNYC studio, where Klucevsek performs his virtuosic, joyful music with vocalists Peter Brown and Kamala Sankaram, pianist Jed Distler, and Klucevsek's trio All Accordions All the Time with young accordionists Art Bailey and Nathan Koci. From Tuesday, March 17, to Sunday, March 22, Klucevsek presents a different aspect of his music each night at John Zorn's East Village venue The Stone.
