June Squibb was on the Leonard Lopate Show talking about her Oscar-nominated role as Kate Grant in "Nebraska." She also told us about her favorite television shows and Matthew McConaughey's great work. 

What have you read or seen over the past year (book, play, film, etc…) that moved or surprised you?

            Script of Nebraska
         The film Mud – McConaughey is working so beautifully now.
         Jo Nesbo’s Scandinavian crime novels.


What are you listening to right now?

            Alabama Shakes.  The female singer is incredible – and the band from old rhythm + blues songs.


What’s the last great book you read?

            Naguib Mahfouz – his latest before he died – The Seventh Heaven


What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

            TV – Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Justified.


What’s your favorite comfort food?

            Mac + cheese
