The English folk singer and instrumentalist Olivia Chaney burst on the scene with her debut album two years ago, called The Longest River. Critics compared her voice to that of some of the great old English folk singers of the 1960s and 1970s, and she also displayed a keen ear for spare but often haunting arrangements. Lately, she’s recorded with the Kronos Quartet, and is now touring with the Decemberists, as part of a project called Offa Rex. But tonight, Olivia Chaney plays a solo show at Joe’s Pub.
