Kurt Vile is from Philadelphia, and was formerly a member of the popular rock band The War On Drugs. Vile and his band The Violators play music that blends twangy folk and indie rock with a psychedelic tinge. (Kurt Weill, the 20^th century German American composer who wrote "Alabama Song" and "Mack The Knife," and this Kurt Vile are not the same guy.)
