Fighting Fracking With Music

The Takeaway | Jun 15, 2015

U.S. history is often told through music, and the protest song has become more mainstream since the days of Pete Seeger.

For Grammy-winning musician Tom Chapin, it appears that the future of of protest music can be found in the environment and the issue of fracking.

Jason Samel is producing an album of songs by musicians who want to make a point about fracking and the potential dangers it poses to the environment. It's called "Buy This Fracking Album," and it drops June 23rd. Samel and Chapin join The Takeaway for an interview and performance live in studio.

Listen to Chapin perform the song "Down There" below.
