Fears Of A Muslim Registration In Little Pakistan, Brooklyn

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 20, 2017

The New Yorker staff writer Jennifer Gonnerman discusses her story "Neighborhood Watched." She reports from Little Pakistan, in Brooklyn, where thousands of Pakistani immigrants have settled in the past several decades. Joining her is Mohammad Razvi, founder of the Council of People’s Organization, a community group serving South Asian and Muslim immigrants. Ravi is now fielding many calls from Pakistanis in Brooklyn who fear immigration roundups, increased hate crimes, and worry that there might be a Muslim registry.
