Don Porter
The Douglas P. Cooper Distinguished Contemporaries Collection | Feb 29, 2016
In this unscripted banter with actor Don Porter he touches on translating his Broadway success in Plaza Suite to summer stock. I prompt him to recall best-known performances from his extensive stage, film and television career, as well as two sitcoms, The Ann Southern Show and Gidget.
Porter comments briefly at the difficulty of creating successful TV; the glum state of sitcoms; and the problem of too little content. Yet he sees news as a high art.
We conclude with his comment on charity work for MIAs and POWs, and the bracelet he wears to keep alive the hopes for safe return of one soldier.
