Arizona’s 1st Congressional District is home to one of the most competitive House races in the country.

A Republican turned Democrat, former State Sen. Tom O’Halleran, will face the Republican Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu. They are vying to fill the seat left vacant by Democratic incumbent Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, who is trying to unseat Sen. John McCain.

Here & Now‘s Robin Young hears from KJZZ’s Laurel Morales about why this race is so close in the latest installment of our district profile series.
