Why She Left The Jewish Orthodox Life

The Leonard Lopate Show | Sep 26, 2017

Tova Mirvis was born and raised in a tight-knit Orthodox Jewish family where she followed the rules and rituals of daily life, got married and quickly started a family. But as she documents in her memoir The Book of Separation, Mirvis eventually chose to leave her husband and her faith when she turned 40. She recalls why she made this decision and what impacts it had on her family.

Tova Mirvis will appear for talk and signing at Barnes & Noble on the Upper West Side (2289 Broadway at 82nd Street) on Sept. 27 at 7:00 p.m.
