Delta Air Lines resumed limited flight service Monday after a power outage in Atlanta sparked a global computer shutdown for the world’s second largest airline.
At 5:05 a.m. ET, Delta issued an alert, “advising travelers to check the status of their flights this morning while the issue is being addressed.
More than three hours later, at 8:40 a.m. ET, Delta announced that the company lifted the ground stop that affected about 15,000 flights around the world, stranding thousands of passengers while the air carrier scrambled to restore service.
“If your flight is canceled or significantly delayed, you are entitled to a refund,” Delta’s website said. “Even if your flight is not canceled, you may make a one-time change to your ticket without fee if you are scheduled to travel to, from, or through the following destination(s) on Delta, Delta Connection, or Delta-coded flights during the specified time periods listed below.”
