Jenna Krajeski discusses her story in the in the Virginia Quarterly Review, “What the Kurds Want.” For four years, Krajeski was based in Istanbul, where, with the support of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, she reported on regional issues with a focus on the Kurdish populations in Turkey, Iraq, and Syria. She is a 2015/2016 Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan. 

In her latest story, she reports on a rising Kurdish movement in Syria, which professes a commitment to a more radical democratic experiment—one that transforms Kurdish society through gender equality, minority rights, and an equal distribution of wealth and property.
