Common Core Literary Standards Require Close Reading

The new Common Core State Standards for English have stirred plenty of controversy. In a Vermont classroom full of 8th graders, they are working on a cornerstone of the core: close reading.

I was wondering if i could get a copy of those lesson plans. and handouts
for this lesson.
I am a teacher and currently we are reading about the Holocaust.
It seems like a good lesson - and I could tie it into The Book Thief
